Grilled Masala Fish

Ingredients

  • 600g white fish fillet (any firm white fish)
  • 3 tbsp yogurt
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 2 cloves garlic, grated
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2-3 tbsp tandoori masala
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tbsp breadcrumbs

Method

  1. Prepare the Marinade

    • In a large bowl, combine the yogurt, lemon juice, grated garlic, grated ginger, tandoori masala, and salt.
    • Mix well until a thick paste forms.
  2. Marinate the Fish

    • Add the fish fillets to the bowl and coat them evenly with the marinade.
    • Cover and refrigerate for 3-4 hours to allow the flavors to develop.
  3. Prepare for Grilling

    • Preheat the oven to its highest temperature.
    • Uncover the marinated fish and mix in the vegetable oil and breadcrumbs for added crispiness.
  4. Grill the Fish

    • Place the fish fillets on a roasting tray.
    • Grill each side for approximately 15 minutes or until the fish is cooked through and has a slight char.
  5. Serve & Enjoy

    • Remove from the oven and serve hot with lemon wedges and a side of fresh salad or naan.
